Kim Reis

Pilates instructor

Kim began her training at the age of six with her first gymnastics class and has been studying movement ever since. She earned her Pilates certification in 1999 from Master Instructor Romana Kryzanowska. Also certified through Power Pilates, she studied extensively with Bob Liekens and has assisted Jennifer Kries with teacher-training seminars. Kim is featured in Jennifer’s Master Trainer DVD series as well as her Hot Body/Cool Mind series. One of the first to bring Pilates to the mainstream, students filled her classes at Equinox Health Club, New York University, and the Time/Life Company, among others. She has studied Anatomy, Kinesiology, and Biomechanics with Irene Dowd and Jean-Claude West.

Kim danced professionally in NYC and was a member of The Mark Morris Dance Group. After moving to San Francisco, she studied flying trapeze and performed with the aerial dance company, Flyaway Productions. While there, she also taught Pilates to members of the San Francisco Ballet. Now in Portland, OR, she has trained athletes for the Portland Trailblazers. As a mom of two boys, she likes to take any opportunity she can to practice her Pilates, study yoga, or go for a run in all her “spare” time. Kim’s philosophy is to empower her students to create change, and to always believe in the possibility of a positive outcome.
