Jean-Claude Nelson
Jean-Claude Nelson was born in Munich. At the age of 8 he began to study at the Music Academy in Munich classical and modern ballet. After 10 years he graduated with the diploma and was engaged by the Bavarian State Ballet. Soon he moved abroad and danced as a soloist with the London City Ballet, the Ballets de Monte-Carlo and the Ballet of the Opera of Lyon.After intense international tours in Europe, Asia, North and South America, Jean-Claude suffered a serious knee injury that forced him to interrupt his career. In this difficult period of life he was introduced to the Pilates method. He was so impressed by the positive results of the training, that he decided to devote all his energy in a two-year study of the authentic Pilates method. He began his Pilates training in The Hague at Marjorie Oron and works among others with Romana Kryzanowska, Sari Meija Santo, Sabina Formichella, Philippe Taupin, Jane Poerwoatmodjo. Jean-Claude received his Pilates certification by the internationally renowned master teacher Romana Kryzanowska (True Pilates New York, Romana’s Pilates) in of 2006.Jean-Claude returned to France and worked as a freelance artist and independent Pilates teacher. He also taught Pilates in Monaco, Lyon, The Hague, Amsterdam, London, New York and Paris. To deepen his pedagogical skills he trained further in 2010 as a state-certified dance instructor in France.In 2012 he decided to return to his hometown of Munich to open his own studio: Bluebird Pilates.
