Hi Alisa,

Yesterday I completed the 8 classes of the postnatal pilates series. Even though I'm no longer I'm doing it 3 years and a half later, it was a good start to get information about what's recommended or not for people who have a diastisis recti. I wish there were more classes with exercises for people who are trying to close their gap. But at least I have some information now.
By any chance, do you know if planks are recommended or not? And would you know which exercises to avoid to avoid flexion exercises.

Hi D,

Yes planks are recommended! In fact, I should have mentioned that you can do any of our 'No Flexion' classes: https://pilatesology.com/classes/?class-type=workout&_apparatus=mat%2Cmat-magic-circle%2Cmat-arm-or-leg-weights%2Cthe-wall&_focus=osteoporosis

These are labeled under the 'Focus' menu as Osteoporosis/Spine Safe but they are appropriate for diastasis because they leave out forward bending, twisting and side bending.

xx,
Alisa
